Off-Road Skills Ride

9th July
6 August

Location: Brunel Way Pump Track, Bristol
Timings: 2.5 hours 6pm - 8.30pm
Capacity: Max 8 riders
Bikes: Gravel & MTB welcome

Not quite a coaching session, not just a social ride, this is the best of both.

We'll head out on a relaxed ride through Bristol's trails with a few deliberate stops along the way to work on the foundations that make every ride feel better: body position, cornering, and descending. Skills that sound simple but transform how confident you feel on a bike.

No experience needed. No pressure. Just a small group of riders, a good route, and practical coaching from a qualified guide and coach that you'll actually remember when you're out on your next adventure.

What We’ll Cover

Off-road riding can feel unpredictable. These three skills change that. They're not flashy, but they're the foundations that every confident rider builds on, whether they're exploring forest trails, tackling a gravel adventure, or eyeing up something a bit more committing.

Get these right and everything else on a bike starts to feel more natural, more fun, and a lot less sketchy.

Everything starts here. A good riding position puts you in control of the bike rather than the other way around. Get this right and every other skill on a bike becomes easier and a whole lot more fun as well.

Body Position

Cornering

Time to be faster, smoother, and more in control. We'll break down how to nail every bend whether they’re flat or banked. You’ll understand where to look and how to weight the bike so you can look forward to every turn.

Descending

Pointing downhill is either exhilarating or terrifying depending on what's going on with your body and your bike. We'll work on the position and the mindset that turns descending into something you enjoy.
